TWEET COLEMAN AVIATION SCHOLARSHIP
"Live with Purpose, Passion & Power"
Tweet Coleman, EdD
Described as “energetic” and motivated by challenges” it no surprise that Dr. Tweet Coleman’s career has spanned positions as a Senior FAA Representative at the American Embassy in London, FAA Program Manager and Regional Representative, Boeing 727 & 747 pilot with Continental Airlines, Dale Carnegie communications coach and Surgical nurse with the Cleveland Clinic & Mayo Brothers Clinic.
Jan. 16, 1986, Continental Airlines had the first all-female crew fly from Guam & Saipan to land in Narita, Japan. History was made that day with the first unmanned flight.
In 1990, Tweet started the aviation scholarship with the AAUW Honolulu Branch, 67 female pilots have been awarded a scholarship.
AAUW Honolulu is honored to have Tweet as a member, and she’s graciously endowed us with the Tweet Coleman Aviation Scholarship, offered yearly, for women seeking to earn a FAA Pilot Certificate.
