National Voter Registration Day

WHAT: National Voter Registration Day
WHEN: September 27, 2016, 3 PM to 6:30 PM
WHERE: Kennedy Theatre, 1770 East West Rd.; UH-Manoa campus and dorms

Did you know that Hawaii state legislature introduced over 5700 and passed 447 bills in 2016 which impact your daily life and yet less than 60% of citizens in Hawaii are registered to vote to elect the senators and house representatives who pass these bills?  In fact, Hawaii has the worst voter registration in the nation.

Are you dedicated to ensuring that young people have their voices heard?  If yes, I am inviting you to join us on September 27th, National Voter Registration Day, to help young people register to vote.

On September 27th, AAUW will to join other local women’s organizations to register voters at UH Manoa campus and dorms. This voter registration event will be held 3 PM to 6:30 PM and will include 15 minutes welcome/sign in, 30 minutes of training, 2 hours of canvassing, and 30 minutes debrief.  We will meet outside of Kennedy Theatre, 1770 East West Road.  Please RSVP to Younghee Overly and she will send you additional information.  Hope to see you there on September 27th.
