Elections Are Around the Corner — Help AAUW Honolulu Register Voters!

15488931698_7b163ce499_kTwo years ago, 706,890 people in Hawaii registered to vote. Of these, only 52 percent actually cast a ballot in November 2014.

These low turnout numbers are not unusual for our state, where generally, numbers have slumped since 1992, when 82.4 percent of registered voters supported their political candidates on voting day.

This year, AAUW Honolulu Branch, and other AAUW members across the USA want to register voters, and encourage them to cast ballots in November. If you are interested in helping with this project, contact Sue Wurtzburg, and she will get in touch toward the end of the August, when the Advocacy Committee organizes a Voter Registration event.
