AAUW Honolulu is committed to protecting the privacy of people who use www.aauwhonolulu.org.
A. General Browsing Information
Visitors to www.aauwhonolulu.org remain anonymous, and AAUW does not attempt to obtain or retain personally identifiable information except as specifically stated. For example, AAUW Honolulu does not require you to register to provide personal information to view the site. And while many organizations use “cookies” — small files sent from a website server to your computer through your browser program to understand how users move through a website and what pages are of most interest — AAUW Honolulu does not use cookies at this time. AAUW Honolulu may maintain general aggregate information, such as the number of visitors to the site, which pages are most often viewed, or from which sites visitors have arrived. This information helps us to better serve our constituency and develop more effective and efficient programs. Unless you affirmatively provide personal information to us, however, we do not maintain information in a personally identifiable format and we take precautions to protect user data and privacy.
B. Personally Identifiable Information
We will ask you to provide personally identifiable information occasionally, such as when you send a secure contribution or register for an e-mail list. Like many nonprofit organizations, AAUW Honolulu obtains the names of potential supporters by renting membership lists of like-minded organizations and publications. Sometimes, instead of paying the rental fee, AAUW Honolulu exchanges its list with another group’s list for a single use. By receiving mail from other similar groups, you help AAUW grow its programs and services. Please be assured, however, that any time you provide personally identifiable information to AAUW, you can have your name excluded from any lists that AAUW Honolulu sells or exchanges. Personal information in e-mails sent to staff or AAUW Honolulu leaders will be used to answer questions, address problems or complaints, or otherwise improve service. Please be aware that with any electronic communication, interception by unauthorized third parties is possible, so you may wish to transmit particularly confidential or sensitive information by regular mail.
C. Third-Party Sites
www.aauwhonolulu.org has links to third-party sites. Since we do not control those websites, we encourage you to review the privacy and other policies posted on these third-party sites.

AAUW HONOLULU BRANCH - Promoting Educational Opportunities For Women
Aloha and Welcome to our AAUW Honolulu Branch website! We are pleased that you are interested in our organization and hope you will consider joining our `ohana (family) as a member.
AAUW
The American Association of University Women and the AAUW Educational Foundation advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education and research. Founded in 1881 as the Association of Collegiate Alumnae, the organization’s original mission was to promote “practical educational work” and later, educational opportunities and improved social conditions.
HONOLULU BRANCH
Founded in the spring of 1905, the College Club was created to promote “the higher ideals of education among women”. In 1922 it became an official branch of the newly organized American Association of University Women, and although the name was changed, the mission did not. We continue to carry out the high ideals of our predecessors. Today the AAUW Honolulu Branch is part of AAUW Hawai’i – Pacific Division. We are one of the three branches located on Oahu. Each branch is dedicated to the organization’s mission but is unique in the programs and activities that it offers. Given our prime location in Honolulu and as one of the few branches in the nation to own our own meeting place, we have a unique opportunity to utilize our branch as a “Women’s Center,” inviting other women’s organizations to share our facility. We are pleased that you are interested in the Honolulu Branch. We invite you to tour our beautiful “ Residence” and participate in one of our meetings or activities. Call us at (808) 537-4702 for more information. We have plenty of room for new ideas and programs. If you would like to become a member now, please fill out the application form on the site. We look forward to meeting you and making you a part of our local `ohana! To learn more about the American Association of University Women, please visit the national AAUW website at www.aauw.org. |
